Labour Agreements

A Labour Agreement (LA) is a formal contract entered into between the Commonwealth and an Australian business where the business is authorised to recruit overseas workers. A Labour Agreement is designed to provide a flexible solution to support Australian businesses where standard temporary or permanent skilled visa programs are not available, and the employer’s recruitment needs cannot be met through the Australian labour market.

Many industries can utilise labour-hire or recruitment companies to source overseas workers, and such companies can be based in Australia or overseas.  While the use of these companies can be an efficient and cost-effective method to source workers, it is quite a complicated process to use this program.

Australia’s Unemployment Rate Plummets Again

Australia’s unemployment rate has dropped once more, falling 0.4 percentage points to 5.1 per cent in May 2021.

New data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) shows that approximately 115,000 Australians found work between April and May, radically lowering the unemployment rate.

Australia’s unemployment rate is now the same as it was in February 2020, just prior to the economic damage wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic with 1 million jobs created since then.

The declining unemployment rate continues to align with the strong increases in job vacancies that has rocketed Australia to become the world’s leading economy.

To become part of this boom, firstly we need to assess your eligibility to do so. Initially please complete our Free Assessment HERE or in the United Kingdom call us at 74 8753 8231 or email lesley@ascmigrationvisas.co.uk

Australia – United Kingdom Trade Deal

A trade deal between the UK and Australia has been agreed upon.

The agreement is the first trade deal to be built from scratch since the UK left the EU which is seen as an important step towards the UK joining a wider Asia Pacific free-trade agreement.

Britons under the age of 35 will be able to travel and work in Australia more freely that also opens fantastic opportunities for British businesses and consumers, as well as young people wanting the chance to work and live on the other side of the world.

More details will follow but this is fabulous news for potential immigrants to Australia such as Working Holidaymakers, Employer Sponsors, Nominees, Skilled Visa applicants, and Business Visa applicants.

Western Australia – Powerhouse Economy

Western Australia’s unemployment rate fell for the 10th consecutive month in April 2021 to 4.9%. The number of unemployed persons fell by 2,239 (3.0%) in April 2021. Total employment actually fell by 14,434 persons (1.0%) in April 2021.

The outlook for Western Australia’s labour market remains positive. Western Australia had 26,486 internet vacancies in April 2021, still at a historically high level. However, filling all of these job vacancies will be challenging in an economy with a reduced labour supply.

There are many other options at your disposal, so take a look around our website. If you don’t see what you require or if you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
